Troian Bellisario rocks camouflage in this pic from her recent WIGS webseries, Lauren.

In the YouTube scripted drama, the 26-year-old Pretty Little Liars actress takes on the role of a young mother who is assaulted by her fellow soldiers and reports the attack to her commanding officer.

Click inside to read‘s exclusive interview with Troian

JJ: we love you in Lauren! what drew you to the script?TB: I was drawn to the script immediately, but for many different reasons. it was so well written, Jay Rodan did a wonderful job. The characters were well defined and layered; you never have a one-dimentional role in any of the three episodes. I was also drawn to the story because it made me aware of an issue that I really had no idea about. I really believe that when taking on a new role, you, as an actor are expanding yourself. you are learning more about another human being’s experience in the world and with Lauren, my eyes were opened to a very different world, and also a very tragic one.

JJ: The storyline is really intense. were you nervous at all to tackle the role?TB: I wanted to do justice to the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to defend our country. I wanted to honor them, but I also wanted to honor the women (and men) who had been silenced. There are so many American soldiers who have gone through sexual harassment and assault and have not had justice, who still have not found peace. I’m not even sure how one does after such a trauma. So I was nervous because although Lauren wasn’t a true story it is based on very very real events.

JJ: Was it fun to branch out from your PLL character Spencer?TB: yes, I had a blast.

JJ: we saw that Lucy Hale tweeted a really sweet message about you and the webseries. are you guys pretty good friends off set as well?TB: yes, we are. The four of us are really lucky to call each other very very good friends. I love those girls. PLL is like my family. I see them every day for nine months out of the year. Truthfully I don’t think we hang out that much off set because we need that time to see our real family, our friends who can’t be on set with us everyday.

JJ: Have you ever been caught in any weird scenarios or lies, like Spencer and the girls on PLL?TB: Nothing like what Spencer gets herself into, but I have definitely been caught in a lie. It’s the worst. I get pretty nauseated.

JJ: your character on Lauren seems to be more of tomboy and your character on PLL is more preppy. were you more of a girly-girl growing up, or a guy’s girl?TB: I was definitely a tomboy. My mother liked to dress me differently, but it was her loss when I came home with mud in my hair every day. I’ve always been more comfortable with guys, I don’t know why. but I have always had one best girl friend, and no one gets closer than her.

JJJ: Did you ever have a friend in high school that was similar to Ali?TB: Yeah, I did. she was actually a really sweet girl, but I think she just got her way and found her power in being a woman much earlier than myself and my other friends. So she would boss us around and kind of emotionally blackmail us. I think it actually worked to her disadvantage, she was so adult before any of us, I think she went through a lot of sadness because of it. As I imagine Ali did on the show.

JJ: You’ve been exposed to the industry since you were little. Is it true that you lived across the street from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as a child?TB: yes.

JJ: do you have any fun childhood memories with them?TB: Yeah loads. They’re beautiful awesome girls.

JJ: Each year, the storyline for the Halloween episode of PLL is amazing! can you give readers a hint about what they can expect?TB: we already wrapped filming it actually. it was a blast, but more work than any other episode that has come before I might say. we really raised the bar with this one and I think the fans are going to like it… a lot. a hint? we have never had this many gotcha moments, so hold on tight.

Benefits of Taking a Microsoft Computer Training

Computer training classes are a very effective way to learn something specific about a software program. There are a lot of different classes offered, both online and onsite or at local colleges, and they will help you get to the point where you are able to work with a program on your own with confidence. we live in a society where computers are the center of pretty much everything that we do. If you are unable to use a specific type of software you may struggle to get a job, communicate, or use a computer to its full potential.

You can take just about any type of computer training class that you would like. If you just want to learn how to use a new program or system this is a great, hands on approach to learning. Not only do you get the information from a reputable source, the hands on learning style will help you catch on much more quickly so when the class is over you are efficient at using the program or system. a computer training class really is a lot of fun and will help you excel in all areas of your life.

One of the most popular computer trainings is the Microsoft computer training. the reason for this is that Microsoft has a lot of different applications to use. If you don’t know how to use them or you are new to Microsoft you may find that you just cannot figure out how to work efficiently and effectively on your own. a training is a great way to get hands on training to use the program of your choice.

If you don’t have a lot of time to take a training at a local college or continuing education center you may want to look into online classes. There are online training classes as well as courses that you can buy that all are inclusive that will allow you to complete them in your own time. You don’t have to sit in a classroom to learn how to use a program if you don’t want to, instead you can fit the training in when it is convenient for you.

Of course, one great way to get the training that you need is to encourage your employer to hold onsite training for you and all of your co-workers. This is a great business choice because it will allow the employer to train all of his or her employees to ensure accuracy on the use of a specific program or cluster of programs. This will also allow for you to get the training for free, or less than you would have paid if you would have went for the training independently of your employer.

Amazon Black Friday Computer Sales and Deals – Apple, Dell and Netbooks at Low Prices in 2010

Every single year Americans look to save money on Black Friday and one way to do this is to find the best deals and sales on computers from Amazon. Over the last several years Amazon has expanded their merchandise to almost everything under the sun but they have done a great job of promoting the sale of computers, laptops and netbooks. When looking for a computer this year many people will likely consider Apple and Dell along with some of the other makers of computers.

If you are thinking of a laptop or netbook as a Christmas gift idea then you will want to make 100% certain that you know exactly what you are looking for. Some people are very particular when it comes to the computer they are going to use. It might be the case that the loved one in your life wants a MacBook or an iPad. if this is the case then they will probably not want a netbook from another company. There are many people that do not use an Apple at all and this would mean that you might want to consider a computer that runs the Windows operating system.

Over the next several weeks it will likely be the case that many people begin to think about 2010 Christmas gift ideas. before coming to any final conclusions it might be smart to wait a little while and see what types of products are going to be on sale when the Friday after Thanksgiving rolls around. There could be some opportunities that you do not want to pass up when it comes to desktop computers, laptops and netbooks.

Mac animation software reviews

If you are like me and want something simple to use for Mac animation, quick results and at an affordable price (often at huge discounts) then you are certain to find something on my review pages to suit your requirements.

. creativity is as important as having the right tools to do the job. If you have both then you could be onto a winner

My top recommendations are as follows

Bargain software – under $50 for a limited period

Illusion Mage

For the current price of $47 (a huge reduction and this is only for a temporary time so you should consider this deal seriously while it lasts) it’s hard to ignore this software as being an absolute bargain. you get loads of tutorials and support info which you just cannot get with free and less stable animation software. for the price, this is the best animation software for Mac. a full review can be seen at the website at the end of this article.

$50 – $100

Anime Studio Pro

As with any powerful software program, there is a learning curve here. However, take some time with this 3d animation software and you can produce animations that are extremely impressive. this is a good piece of software but you will need to be a bit patient in order to get the best out of it. one of the good features is the ability to make 3D objects from 2D vector layers. There are lots more really good little features that make it a pretty nice bit of software.

Poser 8

Poser is a serious bit of 3d software. but be warned, it is not for ‘dummies’. you need to patiently work your way through the manual. the chances are, if you have the patience to do so, you will create some incredible 3d animation. Poser certainly packs a powerful punch but don’t expect immediate results.

Poser 9 (currently big discounts)

The next version up of the great Poser series has included a huge range of fantastic additions and changes. far too many to possibly include here but amongst one of the best is the rendering improvements. Motion blur quality, depth of field etc are all more advanced with this version.

Manga Studio EX 4

Wow. Currently selling for almost half price this is a brilliant piece of software. In fact, I’d say that this is one of the best 3d animation products available at this price. some of the best features include:

  • a professional colour set
  • additional word balloons
  • Additional 3D Objects and loads more

This is excellent 3d animation software if you can afford the price. If not, then maybe go with something like Illusion Mage, work your way up slowly with the learning and save for something like Manga Studio further down the line.

Poser Pro 2012

This is also nearly half price at the time of writing as the product description states, ‘Poser Pro 2012 is the fastest way for professional artists to create Poser content.’ Poser basically is for the higher end animators. More in the professional league. having said that, if you’ve worked your way up learning with 3d animation software such as Illusion Mage then you will probably soon get into your flow with this superb piece of kit.

This really is a phenomenal piece of kit and really is up at the high end of the best 3d animation products for Mac list. It’s worth it though if you are into professional animation possibilities.

So if you are looking for the best Mac animation software then please do visit the website address below and grab yourself a great deal.

Figuring Base Salary For Information Technology Jobs

June 21, 2012 by
Filed under Every thing you Need to Know

Before considering any type of job the first thing a person considers is how much it is going to pay them and if it will be enough to realistically support their lifestyle. there are several high paying IT positions that are available and pay very well. in order to figure up the salary for information technology related positions one must consider a few different factors.

The ever growing demand for information technicians, one would assume the salary would increase. Often this is not the case as it’s now a popular career choice for young people. many technologically literate people are cropping up straight out of college which has the opposite affect on the median salary.

There are still several great paying jobs available and if someone knows just what to look for, they can cash in on this informational craze. the best thing a person can do is acquire a specific skill that will set them apart from the rest of the people who are qualified to do the same position. By standing apart with a specific skill, a person automatically increases their chances of getting the job just by being unique and hopefully indispensable.

Location is also a big factor in figuring up how much a job will pay. one job in one part of the world may pay an entirely different median amount than the exact same job in another part. It’s been reported that Washington DC is currently the highest paying city when it comes to IT positions. it is closely followed by New York and Boston.

Lower paying areas include Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, and Dallas. It’s important to figure in the cost of living when comparing it to the salary to be earned. another thing to consider are the benefits that come in addition to the pay. Insurance packages and retirement plans are important to have along with maternity and or paternity leave for those who plan on having children.

For a comprehensive management position, one can expect to make around seventy thousand dollars at entry level. This is a high demand job and involves a lot of generalized duties. Typically an IT manager will over see the entire functionality of the business and their entire technology department. there are many duties associated with this job and good knowledge of several different specialized area will be required. With the option of advancement up the career ladder, a top out salary is around one hundred and twenty thousand dollars.

More specialized positions have different starting pays. an IT Vendor Relationship Manager will handle the business associations with computer and network providers. They will earn anywhere from $80,000 to $140,000 a year. another popular position is the Information Technology Director. They will handle all the aspects of handling the computer networks and policies within a company. This position may pay anywhere from $115,000 to $205,000.

It’s clear to see that people who choose an IT job must be well qualified and educated in all aspects of IT and it’s inner workings. only the highest trained professionals will garner top dollar pay. With such a high salary for information technology jobs, the competition is increasing and more and more people graduate college seeing only the highest paying positions. For some it may be better to seek employment with a smaller corporation and gain valuable experience before tackling the big businesses.

Computers may predict drugs’ side effects

June 19, 2012 by

Already, companies test drug candidates in animals and in the lab to minimize the possibility that drugs with toxic effects are tested in people. But those offer only a limited way to mimic how a drug will act in humans, so crafting tests that could flag molecules likely to have side effects has become been a priority.

“I think this is an extremely powerful tool,” said Kenneth Kaitin, director of the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development, who was not involved in the study. “one of the major challenges for the industry is that compounds enter clinical testing without a very good understanding of how the drugs work and what the side effects are going to be, so you’re essentially entering blind.”

The team of scientists, from the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research in Cambridge and the University of California San Francisco, focused on drugs’ “off-target” effects. Drugs are usually designed to do a particular job in the body, but they also interact with a person’s biology in complicated and sometimes unpredictable ways. For example, the weight-loss drug fen-phen was withdrawn from the market because of patients’ deaths. Scientists later discovered the biological reason: in the body, the drug also activates a separate biological pathway, leading to heart disease.

In the study, published Sunday in the journal Nature, the researchers started by creating a database of 73 proteins that were associated with adverse side effects. They used a computer program that could rapidly analyze drug molecules to predict whether a library of 656 approved drugs were likely to interact with any of the proteins linked to side effects.

They made more than 1,000 predictions and verified them by doing extensive searches of published materials and conducting new tests in the laboratory. about half of the predictions were correct, and 151 of the interactions were previously unknown.

Computer Repair Shops in Albuquerque NM – Eight Points to Consider When Choosing a PC Repair Store

June 16, 2012 by
Filed under Every thing you Need to Know

If your computer system is broken and you need computer repair in Albuquerque NM then you have to decide which local computer shop will provide the best service and do the best job.

Lets look at a common cause for computer failures and eight very important considerations you should keep in mind when deciding where to take your desktop computer, or laptop, for repairs.

There’s nothing more frustrating, and even frightening, then having your computer breakdown and stop running. not having the ability to use your computer is bad enough, but the possibility of losing all of your data is an even greater fear for most of us.

Your computer can crash for any number of reasons but the most common cause for computer failures these days is primarily because of software; usually a computer virus.

Modern computer hardware is very reliable and is seldom the culprit when your computer stops working. Computer viruses are responsible for more problems than anything else nowadays.

So how to do you know if your computer is infected with a virus? here are some common symptoms:

  • Slow running computer
  • Computer constantly locks up
  • Programs take forever to load
  • Constant Pop-ups
  • Computer reboots itself
  • Blue screen
  • Error messages

Most of us don’t really think too much about getting a computer virus until it happens to us. And, of course you backed up all of your computer data right?

If you think you have a computer virus the first thing you should do is run anti-virus removal software. Malwarebytes is a free piece of software I’ve run successfully on many computer systems. Search for it on Google and get itYou don’t have to be a geek to install it.

If you can’t fix your computer problem with a virus scan, or you have a hardware problem then you need to go to your local shop and get the problem taken care of.

Choosing the best computer repair shop then becomes the issue.

There are many popular computer repair stores in the Albuquerque area some of which include:

  • Dr. Dans Computers 4405 Cutler Ave NE, Albuquerque NM
  • Sandia Computers 3625 Wyoming Boulevard Northeast, Albuquerque NM
  • Computer Corner 4410 Menaul NE, Albuquerque NM
  • PC Magic Pro 1541 Eubank Boulevard Northeast, Albuquerque NM
  • Data Doctors 8001 Wyoming NE Suite B-1 Albuquerque, NM
  • Absolute Computers 7401 Menaul Blvd NE Ste C, Albuquerque, NM

These are just a few computer repair stores to choose from. It’s your choice. but how do you decide?

Do you want reliable, fast, friendly, affordable and professional service with great customer support? we all do right? So do a little homework and save yourself possible headaches when deciding on where to take your computer for service.

Considerations when Deciding where To take your Computer for Repair
Eight Points

1 Location:
This is an obvious one. no one wants to drive thirty miles to get their computer fixed. Look for a computer store within a reasonable distance from your home.

2 Professionalism
You can spot a professional computer store a mile away. You will get a good sense of this the moment you walk in. are you greeted promptly with a smile? How is the staff dressed? What is the condition of the store? your first impression will tell you a lot.

3 Fast Turnaround
When your computer is broken you don’t want to wait days and days in order to get it fixed. Pick a computer shop which can get you up and running in a reasonable amount of time. of course you may have to wait a couple of days on average, but same day computer service ranks high in most people’s book.

4 Experience
Generally speaking,if a computer repair business has been around more than ten years it’s a fair assumption their well established and know what their doing.

5 Affordability
You don’t want to pay an arm and a leg to get your computer fixed. Labor is generally where the bulk of your cost will be so ask a lot of questions so there will be no misunderstanding when you return to pick up your computer system.

6 Personal Consultation
A free consultation is a big plus. If you can get a free assessment without obligation of what’s wrong with your computer system before you agree on repairs then go for it. You will most likely give them the business because they showed a sincere interest in you.

7 Warranty
A warranty or guarantee on work performed should be a given. If you’re not offered a warranty turn around and walk out.

8 Certified Technicians
Ask whether or not the service technicians are certified. This is something oftentimes overlooked but it’s a fair question. You really don’t want the store owners buddy working on your laptop do you?

If you have been the victim of a computer virus or computer hardware malfunction and can’t get your computer to work, you’ve probably felt mad and helpless.

Although it might feel like the end of the world it’s not. You can get your computer repaired from a qualified computer repair shop;just take your time and shop around.

The 8 Things You Do Wrong On LinkedIn

May 18, 2012 by
Filed under Every thing you Need to Know

by Molly Cain

Some years ago, I was chatting with a prospective employer, sharing tales of my experiences and selling him on the many reasons he should hire me, and doing it by using very specific examples. At one point in the conversation he turned quickly around in his chair and started furiously typing. as it turned out, he was Googling me mid-interview to learn if what I was telling him was true (it was true, and I snagged the job).

If this hasn’t happened to you in an interview, don’t think it hasn’t happened in one shape or form. Because even if you don’t witness them doing it, I can almost guarantee they do indeed, Google you.

What are they looking for? Not your Facebook page (although if you don’t have that blocked, they will definitely enjoy the read). Not your dating profile (if they did, that‘s actually über creepy). Instead, what they’re looking for is your online professional presence. and in today’s world, you need to have one out there for them to find.

For many (and I dare say, most) professions, an online professional profile will only help you. and until someone rolls in with something better, the best place to go to build one is LinkedIn.

If you have a profile on LinkedIn already, kudos! but this isn’t really about that. you should have already created one of those years ago. if you haven’t, you should Google around for some tips and tricks for building a great page. then circle back over here.

This is about using your profile correctly — and to your advantage. Because in the corporate world, people read into things. Including the things you’re doing on sites like these. so here are the top eight things you might be doing wrong on LinkedIn.

1) you don’t have any recommendations. If a hiring manager is scoping out your LinkedIn profile and doesn’t see a recommendation, they might think, “Hmm…no one likes their work,” or “They must not have impressed anyone,” or even, “Umm, this is a dud networker.”

The Fix: Get some recommendations, duh. If you haven’t tried it yet, that’s your homework for today. Send out a request for a recommendation to at least five people you’ve worked with or currently work with (check your company policy). You’ll be surprised at how willing, honest and complimentary people will be of your work (granted, that’s if you’ve impressed them in the past – I don’t recommend you sending a request to an enemy).

2)  You get a flood of recommendations. One word. Shady. if you get a flood of recommendations one day, we’re all going to know you’re looking for a job. More often than not, job searching occurs under the radar. well, broadcasting a bunch of recommendations all at the same time is the complete opposite of that.

The Fix: I know what you’re thinking, “I need recommendations to get a job, but you’re telling me not to get a bunch of them!” the trick is to always be looking for recommendations, even when you’re satisfied with your job. that way, when you’re not satisfied, you’re already set. if you’ve done great work for a client, ask them for a recommendation via LinkedIn as soon as the project is completed. if you leave a job for another, ask all your former colleagues to give you a shout out. There are lots of ways and reasons to get recommendations, get creative.
